INTRODUCTION
Most of us think
of Heaven as being this place way off in the cosmos: the
place we go to when we die. It's the position that I
just can't seem to get to, or the situation I keep
trying to experience and every time I get there somehow
it escapes me. This is how we think of Heaven. But
what if Heaven is right here, right now, wherever you
are in this moment, if you can see it? What if that's
the case? What if all this running I've been doing,
trying to find my total peace and total happiness in
this situation, in that situation is actually causing me
to run away from my total peace, total happiness, and
unbelievable abundance? What if there are incredible
things trying to occur in my life and I'm blocking them
by the way I see and approach the world? What if there
is much more going on behind the scenes in my life than
I realize? And what if everything is constantly
occurring to try to improve my vision, so I can
understand the that I'm in Heaven right now?
What if I could
be so in touch with the universe that I could get the
answer to whatever I wanted to know about anything, at
any given time? What if my being so connected supplied
just the right set of circumstances coming my way to
achieve all the things that would bring me into that
heavenly position that I’ve so longed for? What if I am
a mini replica of the universe and there are higher
realms within me I can visit in meditation? What if
all it takes is for me to actually tap into myself and
go deep enough to see this magical kingdom that’s been
waiting for me all the time?
What if this is
what’s going on with all of
us? We’re in Heaven and we just don’t know it.
Happiness beyond our wildest dreams is waiting on us.
What if everything that’s happening is trying to get us
to realize it? What if all the events in our lives are
occurring in order for us to see the eternal through
each situation? What if once we begin to meditate
deeply on a regular basis, we see the light coming to us
through all the events in our lives causing us to
thoroughly enjoy every moment? What if when this occurs,
life seems to become more and more incredible as we go
along with unbelievable opportunities constantly coming
our way? What if this makes us realize that even when a
‘bad’ thing occurs, it’s actually a good thing in the
making? What if that good thing in the making is so
good that other things have to leave in order for us to
get to it? What if when you see life this way this is
how it works for you? What if when you don’t see life
this way then it doesn’t work?
When I began
writing this book, it started out as notes to myself. It
was an investigation. It was an experiment. I needed to
find out for myself if I can be in Heaven in every
moment of my life. I needed to know that I could enjoy
life so much that I could barely stand it, and feel this
way every day of my life.
I did have days like that where I felt so good it was
unbelievable. Such days were almost mystical. Not only
was I excited and enthused about life but I could see
harmony and beauty in everything. I wanted to
experience this every day. I also wanted to learn to
feel as free as I do during meditation even as I go
through my daily activities. Quite often during
meditation and immediately afterwards I would feel as
though nothing in the world could touch me, like I was
totally liberated. I had no concerns about what others
would think or expect nor was I worried about how
anything in my life would turn out. I just felt so
good. But give me an hour or two or sometimes even
twenty minutes and that was no longer the case.
What made me think about the possibility of having these
wonderful experiences all the time was a statement I
heard Joseph Campbell quoting from the Gospel According
to Thomas, a Gnostic text dug up and authenticated in
1945.
It was a
statement made by Jesus. They were asking him where is
the Kingdom of Heaven? When does the kingdom come?
Jesus replied, “The Kingdom of Heaven will not come by
expectation, the kingdom of Heaven is spread upon the
earth but men do not see it.” When I heard this
statement I sat up on the couch, and I looked at the TV,
I knew I was missing something.
I got to a point
in my life where I had learned how to travel in
meditation, and learned how to see deeper realities
within myself. I could get answers to any kind of
question I wanted about life, and the answers were
correct. Sometimes I followed the advice I had gotten
within in meditation, or I followed the advice of the
events that would come on account of the meditation. The
most uncanny things would happen to give me just the
right answer at the just the right place, at just the
right time. When I had the courage to move accordingly,
life was great but I didn’t feel as though I was in
Heaven in every single moment in my life, far from it.
I still hadn’t realized the Kingdom of Heaven was not
just a place that’s out in the cosmos after life, not
just in this place that I can travel to in meditation
when I am seeing other worlds and feeling oh so blissful
like nothing in the world can touch me. The kingdom was
right here, right now, in every circumstance in my life,
if I could see it, enjoy it, and literally jump into the
mystical adventure that I am right in the middle of.
Once I learned how to do that, that same Kingdom of
Heaven that I would travel into in meditation, that made
me feel so wonderful, seemed to be unfolding and
unrolling before me, right here in my life.
Once I realized this was possible, I began to write the
book. The first two chapters came from two radio
broadcasts I had done several years ago. I began with
them because although they may challenge the average
persons present belief system, the information is
crucial to understanding and enjoying the rest of the
book. I wrote the last four chapters after my revelation
on the couch that day. I hope you enjoy this book,
profit from it, and have your world change after reading
it
